Estimator

An Estimator opportunity has arisen to in our Commercial Department to support to assist in the accurate preparation and processing of contracts within the geotechnical engineering and drilling company.

Ensuring proactive contract evaluation, tender processing in line with framework contracts, accurate reporting and ground investigation assessments are completed to minimise risk and liability so to reduce litigation, is completed within the relevant deadlines.

You will be based at our Hamilton Office in Scotland. 

Responsibilities and Activities:

·       Identifying contractual risk at tender stage

·       Attending tender site walkovers

·       Writing claims and giving contractual advice to engineering department

·       Dealing with all aspects of small to mid-sized Ttenders independently at the discretion of the Commercial Director

·       Attending contractual meetings

·       Assisting the Commercial Director in compiling framework contracts

·       Online daily teams meeting with the Commercial Director or face-to face- as deemed appropriate.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential

Knowledge of industry standard forms of contract including Infrastructure Conditions of Contract and NEC (3&4) Contracts

Knowledge of industry standard forms of specification including UK Specification for Ground Investigation 2nd Ed moving to 3rd Ed; Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (Vol 5. Section 3 Part 4)

Knowledge of Method of Measurement as per UK Specification for Ground Investigation and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (Vol 5. Section 3 Part 6) and comprehensive knowledge of Preamble to the Bills of Quantities

Full driver licence (travel is a requirement)
